New Potterycrafts Top Loading kilnsA process of continued improvement has resulted in many innovations in the design of the top loading kiln ranges as shown below. New Features
The easy-to- liftlids now have gas struts to take all the weight out of the lid, floating hinges give sufficient play to minimise the stresses on the lid reducing the risk of cracking bricks. The lids are supported on robust steel arms from front to back increasing the strength and evenly distributing the weight further reducing the stress on the bricks. Insulation has been redesigned, there is a now generous 100mm of brick and backup insulation, greater than the industrystandard, giving extremely efficient use of power. The smaller Hobby kilns have 83mm insulation. Floors made from Ultralite granular insulation for more efficient firings and easy replacement in the event of glazespillage. Permanently open air vents for clean atmosphere, and vents with plugs for speedy cooling. Deeper element grooves now minimise the risk of elements falling into the kiln. New look, larger front box gives better ventilation and protection to the electronics and revised wiring layout gives easier access for maintenance. Additional Features All Topworkers are fitted with castors for easy movement, two castors are lockable for secure positioning. Industry standard A1 element wire is used to ensure long life and the elements are of different specification top to bottom, (balanced) to give very even firings. All Topworker elements are universal voltage 220-250 volts to minimise effects of voltage drop. Harting HAN 7 socket makes it easy to change and upgrade controllers. Alongside the new innovations, Potterycrafts kilns still incorporate the traditional skills and knowledge accumulated over years in the Potteries.
The robust quality of these top loading kilns appeals not only to craft potters but also to schools where they are now recognised as a highly economical alternative to front loaders. This is a range of high performance, low maintenance kilns offered at very competitive prices.
