So this clay is way more tough and coarse (grainy) than expected. The description said it was very smooth clay which when finished/burnished after a day of being off the wheel there is almost micro holes present. It doesn’t appear to have a smooth homogenous finish at all. I’ve used multiple different clays from scarva’s line and this was the first disappointment. It really doesn’t fit the description given so I’m a bit upset by the purchase as this was the first time I didn’t just buy one bag to test. However, I will say it has more tolerance on the wheel due to its toughness it would withstand more severe angles I was shaping in and worked well with profile ribs- I would have given a better review if the coarse material within the clay didn’t feel like it was scraping my hand so much as it spins on the wheel. I appreciate there is natural variation in clays so it could be the selection has came from a point that it’s more coarse.
